Plot TL;DR:

In the end, it was hilarious, really. They all thought it would be so simple to stop him, to end this for good...to restore the balance he loathed.

The fire was inevitable. The spark that ignited because of a single, careless, hopelessly addicted hunter with his nicotine...

Not only was he free, but the vessel made to contain him was little more than ash by the time he was following the Siren song of power and pain that called to him the moment a plume of flame sent him buzzing back into the heavens.

Beacon Hills. Oak Creek. Food.

Months passed. There was precious little to sustain him, little more than the promise of a banquet and the dazzling light of revenge at the end of a dark and dismal tunnel. The wayward spirit flew on, searching for a home.

He felt Beacon Hills once he passed across its border. Darkness filled every corner, and it filled him with new life, with fresh energy, propelled him onward a little longer. The agony that pervaded the air kept him alive and focused long enough to seek out a new host, a new form to take what belonged to him...

He didn't know about the war between the packs. He didn't care if the true Alpha was broken, because he could still break him further. He didn't care about the chimeras, or the delusional young boy leading them...and he damn sure didn't care about the still more delusional men in leather and steel that fancied themselves masters of science and the supernatural.

All he cared about was the spark of foxfire that ignited in battle. The thunder kitsune, ever reliable, fighting the delusional leader of the chimera pack with that critical boost of power he needed...

Thunderous foxfire flashed. The harmless looking fly flew straight into Theo Raeken's mouth. Just before he fell, his glowing gold eyes took on a sick, milky cast before the bolt of electricity that flew from Kira put him down hard, knocking him unconscious.

And as Theo dreamed, the Nogitsune was pleased to find that, this time, his host was a far more willing participant in the possesion.
